On 20/12/2024, Governor H.E Simba Arati officially launched the much-anticipated Community Water Project in Keumbu, a collaborative initiative between USAID and Gusii Water and Sanitation Co. Ltd (GWASCO). The project is designed to provide sustainable access to clean water for the residents of Keumbu and surrounding areas.

This landmark project, developed through the strong partnership between USAID and GWASCO, aims to improve the livelihoods of local communities by addressing the challenges of water scarcity and ensuring reliable access to safe drinking water. The Governor expressed his appreciation for the role that GWASCO has played in delivering this critical infrastructure and emphasized the importance of such projects in supporting public health and enhancing the quality of life.

The launch event was attended by local leaders, stakeholders, and members of the community, all of whom celebrated the successful completion of the project and its positive impact on the region. H.E Simba Arati reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that provide long-term solutions to water and sanitation issues across Kisii County.
